About Scenic Biotech

Scenic Biotech is pioneering genetic modifiers or so called “disease suppressors” for drug discovery to build a pipeline of breakthrough products. Founded in 2017, it is a spin-out of the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Oxford University. Scenic Biotech has initiated a pipeline of pre-clinical discovery programs employing a revolutionary genetics approach that can identify new types of drug targets for a great variety of diseases. The current focus is on rare genetic disorders and immuno-oncology.

About Sebastian Nijman

Sebastian NijmanSebastian received his training at The Netherlands Cancer Institute and the Broad Institute of Harvard and M.I.T. He held a faculty position in Vienna at the CeMM before being appointed as an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford (Nuffield Department of Medicine). There, he held positions as an Associate Member at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and as Director of Functional Genomics at The Target Discovery Institute. Sebastian is also a co-founder and former COO of Haplogen GmbH. At Haplogen, he initiated a partnership with Horizon Discovery, and co-led the subsequent acquisition of Haplogen Genomics.
