About Miriam Bujny

Sr. Director R&D, ProQR
As Sr. Director R&D at ProQR (Leiden, NL), Miriam currently works on a number of R&D projects at the interface of drug discovery and development, bringing together different experts and objectives to accomplish the common goal – developing drugs for patients in need. She joined ProQR in 2016 as Director Biomarkers. Prior to that, Miriam held various positions in predictive marker discovery (Principal Scientist at Janssen Prevention Center, Leiden, NL) and scientist in discovery and pre-clinical & clinical evaluation of anti-viral antibodies at Crucell (later acquired by J&J/Janssen). Miriam studied biochemistry at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany (1998 – 2003), and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol, UK (2003 – 2007). From 2007 to 2010, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Xiaowei Zhuang at Harvard University.
