As a participant of BioBusiness Summer School you are required to take care of your own accommodation. Unfortunately staying in Amsterdam is never cheap. We do however have some suggestions. Making use of these will save you a lot of time and will increase the chance that you are in the same accommodation as other participants.

Budget hostels

Hostels in Amsterdam are generally good and clean, but dorms can be noisy, especially in summer months. The hostel of Hans Brinker ( offers cheap clean beds in the middle of Amsterdam. If you’re not interested, the sarcastic website is still worth a visit. An alternative is Flying Pig Downtown Hostel (, which is conveniently located near Amsterdam Central Station and also relatively cheap but the dorms are very large.
