About Cees de Jong

Cees de Jong (1961 - MD, MBA) was President and CEO for Chr. Hansen from early 2013 till June 2018, and under his leadership the Danish NASDAQ OMX listed bioscience company increased its market capitalization from EUR 3,3 bio to well over EUR 10 bio. In a report published in 2016 by the Boston Consulting Group, Chr. Hansen was ranked as the 7th most value creating company in the world in the ‘chemicals’ industry, and in January 2019 during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Chr. Hansen was elected the most sustainable company in the world.

Today, Chr. Hansen is a global bioscience company with leadership positions in several attractive niche markets for cultures (bacteria) for the dairy, meat, wine, human health, animal health and crop protection industries, and dairy enzymes and natural colors for the food & beverage industry.

Prior to joining Chr. Hansen, Cees held various leadership roles and board positions with companies such as Gist-brocades / DSM, Campina, ICI, and Crucell.

Cees has served and is serving on a number of Supervisory Boards, and in addition is an investor in several BioTech and MedTech companies.
